Spotlight: Fierce Run Force - Equality for Mental Health!

This year we hosted our third World Mental Health Day initiative themed around Equality for Mental Health in October, where 47 running communities globally helped us raise awareness and normalise the conversation around mental health - we are grateful to each and every person that took part and contributed to smashing the stigma.

Fierce Run Force a female running crew from Berlin led by their founder Steffi Platt is one of the communities that join us each year to support mental wellbeing in the community.

This year they had a talk around mental health to get things started, focusing on the 25% increase in the number of mental health cases in Germany, where people have to wait up to 22 weeks before they can get an appointment with a therapist.

The talk was followed by an intentional run all about attentiveness, starting slow and in silence with the group running together as one.

Fierce Run Force continued with a workshop afterwards where they included two of the tasks set by Be More You "the two words and rose, rose, thorn and bud exercise". Which were great icebreakers and made almost everyone share their feelings, this created a really emotional atmosphere. Steffi closed the workshop with a final task of attendees writing a letter to themselves, which they will receive at some point next year via post

What a wonderful day organised by Steffi and Fierce Run Force. Thank you!
