🔦 PRJCTRUN, São Paulo, Brazil

As part of this year’s mental health campaign, we shall be featuring some of the crews from around the globe, asking them some questions about their community and how they will be supporting the Equality for Mental Health Campaign this October. Last week we featured Bridge Runners from New York City, and we are following this up with PRJCTRUN who hail from São Paulo, Brazil.

Questions answered by their co-founder "Ton Hamilton!"

How and when was the crew founded?

PRJCTRUN was founded in September 2017, due to the lack of representation of black people from the fronts of their communities, we thought we had to do something to change the path and fill this space.

What are the values of your community?

PRJCTRUN is a crew led by black people, where we want to show that we can occupy places that were not allowed before, fight racism and inequality, we see that through sport and running we can build an egalitarian society where everyone has the same opportunities, no one is left behind.

What achievement are you most proud of as a community?

To be able to continue doing what we love and to hear from people who, through PRJCTRUN, feel represented, this gives us energy to keep going.

Are there any barriers that your community faces socially?

There are barriers, but we know our importance in our community and where we have to keep getting stronger to be able to take our message to more and more people through sports.

What will you do as a community to support the Equality for Mental Health initiative in October?

Let's encourage people to have a moment of connection with body and mind through yoga!
